Our Association was founded on National Police Remembrance Day 29 September 1997 with a base membership of about 25. Today we have about 390 members on the books spread across Australia and overseas.

From the start meetings were held at committee members homes until during 1999 a house at the Peter McAulay Centre, Police Headquarters, was made available for use as a permanent office and meeting place for committee meetings, social activities and to welcome visitors.
